Day 18
Since April I have occasionally been sharing some stories on Facebook and then disrupting those stories to a few other places, mostly here on my blog and an email newsletter. Most of these posts are centered around the same four topics.
Mind
Body
Business
Relationships
Sometimes these posts will be centered around one topic, sometimes these posts will touch on more than one of these topics.
Since I have a background in exercise and I have been actively working on #makingmybodygreatagain I find the body topic to be my favorite to write about.
That same interest in exercise has been a major catalyst in me embarking on a running challenge that I have never done before. In the past, I have run races of multiple distances and am slowly working my way towards running the 2019 Utah Valley Marathon. As part of this training, I decided that I would run at least one mile a day for 30 days. Today was day 18 of 30!
Running multiple days in a row is something I have done before. 3 days sure, maybe 4. There were times that I probably did 5 runs over the course of 3 days. I’m pretty sure that I have never run more than 5 days in a row. I defiantly had not run 18 straight days.
Since I have been sharing my exercise adventures I have had a few changes in mindset about fitness and health along the way. Some of them aren’t new ideas, just ones that I haven’t thought to be so important over the last few years.
I finally publicly shared the time I pooped myself on a run. Something that mortified me for the longest time and had only shared with a few people.
I have come to accept that exercise will not be the greatest factor in weight loss. What goes into your mouth is! This is still something that I have a hard time implementing and I think a lot of people do. When it comes to weight loss exercise is the easiest part! Eating right takes more effort and planning. Sometimes it takes all day.
I have learned the 30-day challenges while motivating can also be a pain in the butt because there is that mile that needs to be fit in the day. While I’m not totally sure I’ll jump on doing a 30-day fitness challenge right away I think there is something in continually having something you’re working to improve.
As I work towards my next 12 days in I row I’m excited to find out what more I can learn along the way. I know that I’m not about to jump on 60 days of running in a row. 30 days of running in a row aren’t for everyone but working towards bettering your life in some way is! So if you’re thinking you’re up for a challenge of some sort do it!
