#makingmybodygreatagain
The other night I posted a video on Instagram Stories for kicks and giggles.
I was warming up for my run by climbing some stairs on a StairMaster. The cool part is that I was able to overlay a song on the video.
“My body tells me no!
But I won’t quit
‘Cuz I want more, ‘cuz I want more”
The song is My Body by Young the Giant. It is a great song. If you have an exercise playlist or a pump you up playlist you really need to throw it in there. It’s pretty much my Eye of the Tiger. My own Canned Heat, that’s the song Napoleon Dynamite dances to. Maybe even a modern-day Chariots of Fire.
It’s that good.
Not long after I posted the video I got a message from a friend of mine, a friend that actually introduced me to that song.
“Still the best song ever. You’re inspiring me Seth! Time to get myself back out there!!!”
Thanks! Molly. That comment meant a lot. It’s awesome to know that other people are getting inspired by my waddling.
I’ve been thinking about motivation and what inspires me lately.
Trying to find the secret that is going to make fitness and eating better stick this time.
This time getting back into running has felt a lot better. I removed the exception that I need to be going as fast and as far as I was during the peak of my training.
It has been doing so well that I even decided to challenge myself to run at least one mile a day for 30 days.
Something that I have never done, even when I was running and training before.
And I think I found the secret. I need to work towards something and it helps that I have internal and external factors that are helping me.
I love the challenge that 30 days in a row of running has presented. Simple, attainable but still a challenge. It is also helpful to know that Nick is a cardio animal right now and I can tag along with him on one or both of his daily cardio sessions.
And people sending me messages that I am inspiring them helps. That makes me smile the most.
Actually pizza, pizza makes me smile the most.
Oh, and knowing that today was day of 11 of running 30 days in a row and I already did my mile. #makingmybodaygreatagain one day at a time.
